Conditions of entry to the Russian Federation for citizens of Australia

Australian citizens must request a visa to the nearest Russian consulate if they want to make tourism in Russia. In order to apply for a visa for Russia, Aussie citizens must first buy a russian invitation support letter. You can now order this voucher now with our travel agency (if you know your exact dates of travel).

AUSTRALIANS wishing to obtain a Russian visa (either tourism visa, business visa, transit or private visa – single entry, double entry, multiple entries) should fulfill some formalities and provide some important documents to the Russian embassy, (78 Canberra Avenue Griffith ACT 2603—email: rusianconsul@hotmail.com). A single entry visa (tourist) costs AUS $110 and double entry costs AUS $190 in the normal period (7 business days). The same visa in an emergency (admission within 2 business days) is AUS $220 for a single entry and AUS $330 for a double entry.

When applying for a Russian visa, the first step the AUSTRALIAN citizen has to do is to decide what type of visa one wants/needs to apply for. The type of Russian visa that AUSTRALIANS will choose is not so much dependent on the real purpose of the trip (business or tourism) but rather the length of stay and the autonomy AUSTRALIANS want to have when staying in Russia.

Whatever the final choice is for AUSTRALIAN passport holders, an official invitation from an agency, a hotel, company or private person in Russia will be necessary to obtain a Russian visa. The vast majority of AUSTRALIANS traveling in Russia for a period of less than a month will apply for one month tourist visa. In these circumstances, the application is simple and quite straightforward when receiving your russian invitation for Australians.

If you are an AUSTRALIAN passport holder, you can request an « official invitation for Russia » right now with the Saint-Petersburg-based Travel agency.
